We will publish unique true crime stories, from the chilling beginning to the end.
When a wealthy music producer and his wife, Jose and Kitty Menendez, are gunned down in their Beverly Hills home in 1989, the gruesome details of the crime and lack of credible suspects quickly became a media sensation – the more so when the couple’s two sons, Lyle and Erik Menendez, are apprehended a few months later and charged, then convicted of first-degree murder.
Were Lyle and Erik spoiled, greedy sociopaths or sexually abused victims afraid their parents were going to kill them? The trial supported either interpretation, depending on who you believed, prosecution or defense. Now more than four decades later, a fascinating 9-part Netflix docuseries released Sept. 19 created by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan explores possible scenarios and probes possible motivations. In doing so, it walks a line between alternate interpretations of the crime, rekindling interest in the case.
The outstanding cast:
Javier Bardem (Jose Menendez)
Chloë Sevigny (Kitty Menendez)
Nicholas Chavez (Erik)
Cooper Koch (Lyle)
Ari Graynor (Leslie Abramson)
Dallas Roberts (Dr. Jerome Oziel)
Nathan Lane (Dominick Dunne)
Menendez Brothers Monsters or Victims?” – Erik and Lyle Menendez killed their parents, but pleas to free them are growing. New evidence and a reexamination of the Menendez family’s alleged dark secrets give the brothers newfound support. Despite their life sentences, could they walk free? This episode of “IMPACT x Nightline” begins streaming on Thursday, Oct. 17, only on Hulu.

Season Two trailer. Monsters: Season Two will premiere later this year (2024) on Netflix, but an actual release date has not been given.
Monsters: Season Two will focus on the Lyle and Erik Menendez brothers, who massacred their parents by shooting them repeatedly to death and then attempted to cover up their involvement.
They did that by first trying to distance themselves from the murders, and when caught by the police, they blamed killing their parents because of severe physical and sexual abuse.
